Michael Roots is a senior specialist in field outreach and education, covering the central region of the Central Valley. He facilitates communication to and from the growers, working directly with growers to disseminate information, connect them to resources and help any way he can.

In his previous role, he worked as a farm manager, directly managing more than 4,000 acres of almonds as well as other tree nut crops in Madera, Stanislaus and Sacramento counties. He managed all the day-to-day farming operations and oversaw the operational farming and capital improvement project budgets.

Michael was born and raised in Modesto where he still lives. He enjoys walks, hikes and road trips to the coast with his dog Bella, as well as exploring and supporting local businesses and events in the area.
