As almond processors prepare for compliance with FSMA rules, Almond Board of California (ABC) is providing training for Preventive Controls Qualified Individuals (PCQI), who develop and implement food safety plans and are responsible for Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Preventive Controls compliance in processing facilities.
The curriculum for the training is approved by FDA, and instructors will provide real-world examples and data applicable to the almond industry. Attendance is limited to one employee per company due to the anticipated demand. Training is applicable for operations — huller/shellers and handlers with huller/sheller activities — that do not meet the definition of a farm.
The workshop will be held April 24–26 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day at the ABC offices in Modesto. Cost is $85 per attendee. More information is available in this flier.
