Let your growers know about the Weed ID and Management for Almond Growers workshops, coming up May 10, 11 and 12. These workshops will increase growers’ ability to identify weeds and manage them, including weeds with resistance issues. Monitoring weed pressure and keeping records — two keys to successful management programs — are also on the program.
Workshops will be held in Arbuckle (May 10), Turlock (May 11) and Bakersfield (May 12), and are open to growers, pest control advisers and industry members at no cost. University of California Extension weed specialists will guide participants to recognize weeds and understand the strategies to keep them under control.
The morning’s program will include presentations on the California Almond Sustainability1 Program, and the new mapping and calculator tools available at SustainableAlmondGrowing.org. Workshops run from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., including lunch.
Please RSVP to Rebecca Bailey by email or at (209) 343-3245 with your choice of workshop location.
