Proposed amendments to the Administrative Requirements of the Marketing Order Regulations for Almonds Grown in California (7 CFR Part 981) were published in the Federal Register on February 22, 2022. The proposed changes include the removal of ambiguous and obsolete language, removal of irrelevant dates, and clarification of requirements, provisions, and terms in the regulations to better reflect industry practices and the orderly marketing of California Almonds.
In addition, proposed changes include requirements for Custom Processors to submit an annual application to the Board. The proposed changes were previously recommended and unanimously approved by ABC Board of Directors at meetings held on December 7, 2020, and June 17, 2021.
A public comment period has been opened for the proposed administrative requirements changes and the proposed Custom Processor Application. Comments for both must be submitted by April 25, 2022.
